…and One

Our 7th grade Mustangs lost their first game of the year today, the first loss they’ve suffered during their 7th grade year as Mustangs since they went undefeated in football and were undefeated in basketball up to now.  To lose to Tahoka was doubly tough.  That’s a team we’re familiar with and have battled repeatedly in different leagues over the last few years.

It was a great character builder though.  If ever there was a game where some really concrete things could be learned to change the outcome in the future this was it.  The outcome of this game was within our control.  I really do think they’ll figure that out and know how to handle things differently in the future.

Could you ask any more from a loss than that?

And I was proud of how the kids handled the loss.  They didn’t like it, but they didn’t pout.

So, onward we go now with a current record of 8….and One.
