The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
The Good
SMS OAP won first place in their district competition. It was my first time to see the contest and thus see other school’s performances. There were a couple of good ones but SMS clearly stood out. Lots of individual honors in addition to the play winning first. Well done troupe! Thanks a TON Cindy Couch for the incredible work you do with our drama dept.
The Bad
Tech let one get away this weekend against OSU. The defense played well in the first half but couldn’t get off the field in the second. We still cannot decide who our QB is. It’s not a lost season since the expectations were about where this team is, but it could have been better.
The Ugly
Two words. Dallas Cowboys.
Newest School Board Member
Congratulations to Mr. Scotty Elston, our newest school board member. The election is not until May but he’s running unopposed.
A Little JR League Baseball
Well it appears we’re going to play a little JR league baseball in Little League. I’m glad we have a place to play. After what was done to us this winter I was not sure. I’m glad we have a group of kids and parents that understand what community is, and we’ll do our best to pitch in our part.
No Wind in the Sails
I sort of lost some interest or intensity or something, I’m not sure what – maybe it was hope, but at today’s JV baseball game the wind just sort of went out of my sails as far as the high school baseball situation. Not sure I’ll even talk about it any more, not that anyone reads the drivel I post here anyway. If I were to talk about it any more I’d undoubtedly begin some kind of rant about what’s happening in this program.
If you can’t say something positive, just shut up…so goodbye.
Oh, both teams won today. Woohoo!
Public School Athletic Programs
What is the purpose of a public school’s athletic program?
What is the purpose of a school district boundary?
How does the first relate to the second?
How does it all relate to the community? What is the definition of “community”?
Honestly, chime in. Inquiring minds want to know.
